Phlox Filigree Dangling Ear Studs in Sterling Silver with Pearl
Product Description
A pair of filigree ear studs informed by Phlox stolonifera — Creeping Phlox, a flowering plant admired for its clustered growth and associations with connection, continuity, and quiet affection.
Each form is constructed in sterling silver through strand-by-strand filigree work, shaping a suspended floral element that moves independently from a polished silver stud. The composition is designed as a two-part structure: a fixed point at the ear and a hanging bloom below it.
At the centre, a 6mm freshwater pearl sits within a smaller filigree Phlox flower, which is formed as a cup-like structure. The flower holds the pearl rather than framing it, creating a contained form where the bloom functions as a natural base — almost fruit-like in its sense of enclosure and support.
The contrast between the fixed stud and the gently moving floral drop introduces a soft rhythm of stillness and motion, with the pearl acting as a held point within the suspended structure.
