Description
Description
A pair of filigree ear studs shaped through the form of Prunus serrulata — Japanese cherry blossom, associated with renewal, fleeting beauty, and the quiet balance between strength and transience.
Each bloom is constructed in sterling silver through strand-by-strand filigree work, forming a light and precise floral structure that holds a sense of clarity and impermanence.
The earrings are completed with freshwater pearl push-on backings, positioned behind the ear as a contained counter-form to the open filigree structure. This rear element holds the piece in balance, recalling the quiet enclosure of a bud before opening.
Two distinct pearl finishes define the character of the piece.
The soft pink pearl carries a sense of early bloom — emergence, tenderness, and first expression, where form is still in the process of unfolding.
The peacock-toned pearl carries depth and iridescence, shifting under light to suggest maturity, reflection, and the layering of time after emergence.
These are not variations of decoration, but two readings of the same form across time — one at the threshold of becoming, the other in reflective completion.
Silver bloom and pearl backing form a continuous structure across front and back — moving between openness and enclosure, emergence and reflection — within a single composed form.

Handcrafted in London through strand-by-strand filigree construction, using fine silver wire that is shaped and placed individually. The process is slow and controlled, informed by Indonesian craft traditions and carried through a contemporary approach to form and composition.
